Here are more images from my fun shoot in Nashville with the cousin’s kids. 🙂 Enjoy!

Dana Scheller~Pittsburgh Kids Photographer

October 23, 2009

In late September I had the opportunity to travel down to Nashville for a visit with a couple college friends and my cousin Jeni and her family.  Jeni and I had been wanting to do a photo shoot with her two little girls in tutus for a while. Check out the fun shots and enjoy! I’m based out of Peters Township (aka McMurray) Pennsylvania and I serve clients in and around Pittsburgh. If you’re looking to bottle up your child’s bright bursting smile give me a call. I have a big passion for kids and love the play time as I photograph them in their element. Call soon if you’re looking to do Christmas pictures and Christmas Cards. The last day for Christmas sessions is November 20th. Last day to order prints guaranteed by Christmas is December 1.

I’ll be adding a music video with more images tomorrow. Enjoy my adorable little (2nd) cousins! 🙂

Peters Township High School Senior ~ Pittsburgh Photographer

Two sneak peaks. Lots more to come still from the summer!

I met Peters Township High School Senior, “S.” through a networking group I belong to. I was walking into the meeting a few weeks ago and George, one of the other members, asked me if I’d be able to do his daughters high school senior portraits. We had a date all lined up and poor “S.” got bronchitis the week of our shoot. PLUS the weather was just yucky and cold. SO, we re-scheduled and it turned out to be THE most PERFECT Fall day! The weather was gorgeous, the temperature was comfortable, and I had a great subject to work with. “S’s” mom and “Beau” came along for the shoot and added to the fun. More to come later from this shoot and others.

p.s. If you need a Home Inspector or may need one in the future, George is AWESOME at his job!

The second senior, below, is the brother of one of my May 2009 brides. It was fun getting to hang out with them again and they chose a fun location (downtown Pittsburgh) for the session. Big thanks to Jake and his mom for asking me to do his Senior Portraits; it was a special privilege.

Lauren~Thomas Jefferson High School Senior Portraits

October 14, 2009

Two quick images from my shoot with Miss Lauren on Tuesday. Seriously, I did NOTHING to her skin! Just wait until I get to post more images. Lauren has the most beautiful porcelain skin, and the best personality and a great spirit about her. We had a blast with her shoot because she came full of ideas AND was willing to be creative trying anything.  Lauren has the sweetest personality and I’m so happy that our mom’s work together because otherwise I may not have met her. Enjoy these images. I found it easy to capture her natural beauty. Good Luck Lauren! I know you’ll be successful in your future!

Brittany & Josh

August 26, 2009

I’ve noticed a trend among my Bride and Groom clients. Totally sweet, fun, down to earth, and GENUINE! In fact, I think I’ve used those words to describe some of my couples on the blog. Well, what else can I say when it’s so true and I feel like the luckiest photographer ever! Brittany and Josh are no exception to this theme of great couples I’ve had this summer.

I met Brittany & Josh last year at the Panera in Washington and left thinking we’d make a great vendor-client fit (if you know me or have met with me about photography, this is something that I think is very important for both vendor and client). I was very excited when I got the news that they wanted to hire me as their photographer.  We immediately began brainstorming ideas for a Fall Engagement Session.  We met up in Canonsburg and I rode with them to the beautiful, Schenley Park. I also brought an old trunk to use as a prop. Sometimes I come up with some strange ideas or props and I don’t always know exactly what I’m going to do with it or if it will work, but fortunately Brittany & Josh were willing to try something different and have fun with it.  My philosophy is, “If I tried it and it worked, I won’t have any regrets. If I tried it and it was, ‘FAIL,’ I can always look back and laugh at my ‘dorkiness’.” ANYWAY, back to the story… That fall day, we ended up with some really awesome shots and the trunk provided for some fun. I’ll have to add an e-session image to this post later.

Now let me just share what I’ve been excited to share about Brittany & Josh and their wedding.  They MADE almost all the details for their wedding. As I go, I’ll tell you all the DIYs then post a picture.  It’s too clever not to share with those looking for creative DIYs AND I’ll just brag on Brittany and Josh about it because they should get the credit for it. Their invitations are completely hand made, by them-even the pockets!

Josh’s cuff links held photos of loved ones. This shot was taken by my assistant Jerry Scheller…(a.k.a “little” brother-I say “little” because he’s clearly taller than me)

JK. (yeah, I just typed ‘JK’ and I’m not changing it even if I get made fun of for still using it).  This was totally not staged; he just walked right up took their hands and cuffed ’em. :0) Fortunately, Josh actually knew the security guard at W&J and he was kind enough to remove the handcuffs and allow us in Old Main, which was great because Josh had the idea of using the totally awesome staircase for the image that follows. How many times can I use the word “totally?”

At some point I will be posting a gallery with the rest of Brittany’s DIYs from the reception.

Congratulations Brittany and Josh! Thanks so much for allowing me to be on the sidelines. Looking forward to hearing about all the new and exciting things to come in your new married life!

Texting While Driving Is Too Dangerous

August 25, 2009

A friend of mine posted this on FB.  Please caution, it is graphic, however, it made such a strong statement I felt it should be shared.  Share this with those who may need the message.

Do not watch this if you are sensitive to “graphic accident” type scenes.
